Coating on various surfaces of glass lenses

Usually, a combination of red and amber colors for coating can achieve good results. The color tone of the entire objective system varies from company to company, with some using warm colors with a hint of yellow, while others choosing cool colors with cyan as the main color. For the surfaces that produce ghosting, analysis should be conducted and anti reflection film should be coated. Sometimes, unexpected reflections may occur on the bonding surface, and corresponding measures should also be taken.

For visual observation systems, the focus of glass lenses should be on visual sensitivity. Sometimes telescopes are only coated with magenta film. Nowadays, instruments that can measure the spectral transmittance of optical systems have been developed, so it is possible to make necessary corrections according to the situation. If a multi-layer film is used, its reflection should be reduced to within 0.2-0.5% in the main wavelength region. However, in this case, the number of film layers should be determined based on the refractive index of the glass, and generally 2-4 layers can be plated. For zoom lenses, which are composed of multiple lenses, special anti reflection effects are sometimes required. At the same time, in order to reduce stray light and ghosting, the coating process requirements are stricter.
